The Work That Shapes My Approach
Across more than twenty years in healthcare, education, arts & culture, and research, I’ve collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to translate complex ideas into clear, human stories.
These projects — ranging from theatre and film to digital learning platforms and research communication — shape the way I think about narrative, ethics, accessibility, and the power of storytelling to shape public conversations.
Below is a selection of work that reflects the breadth and depth of my practice.
Featured Projects
A small collection of projects that illustrate the range of my creative and research-informed communication work.
ReView: An Anthology of Plays Committed to Social Justice
Editor, Playwright, Curator — Book Publication
ReView is a collection of three playscripts centred on stories of oppression, resilience, and social change. I developed and edited the anthology with the goal of opening public conversations about lived experiences that often remain unseen or unheard.
The plays have been taken up in classrooms across North America and internationally. The collection is part of the prestigious Social Fiction series, edited by Dr. Patricia Leavy, and was shortlisted for the Patrick O’Neill Award (Canadian Association of Theatre Research).
Cracked: New Light on Dementia
Lead Artist-Researcher — Theatre, Film, Digital Learning Platform
Cracked was a multi-year, multi-format initiative exploring how the “tragedy discourse” of dementia contributes to stigma and limits understanding. I served as playwright, director, and producer, collaborating with people with lived experience, artists, and researchers Dr. Sherry Dupuis, Dr. Pia Kontos, Dr. Christine Jonas-Simpson, and Dr. Gail Mitchell.
The project included a play, a film (produced with Reciprocity Media Collective), and a digital learning platform co-developed with Forge Media. Its reach spanned healthcare providers, educators, families, and community groups — offering a compassionate, nuanced narrative grounded in research.
Into the Light: Stories of Oppression & Education in Canada
Co-Developer — Digital Learning Platform & Educational Media
This project brings the stories of activist-survivors into digital learning spaces, building on a museum exhibition created by the Re-Vision Centre at the University of Guelph and The Guelph Civic Museum.
Working with Elder Mona Stonefish, Dr. Evadne Kelly, Dr. Carla Rice, and the full team, I co-developed the vision and narrative structure for the Welcome & Opening page — guiding viewers through sensitive material with care, grounding, and context.
Additional Projects
after the crash: a play about brain injury
Writer, Director, Producer — Theatre Based on Health Research
Developed for the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Research Lab at the University of Toronto, this play was created to deepen understanding of client-centred care and the lived experiences of traumatic brain injury survivors. It toured hospitals, community centres, and conferences across Canada.
Concussion in the Workplace (Animation)
Writer, Producer — Research-Based Animation
Based on qualitative research, this animated short was also developed for the ABI Research Lab, and raises awareness about concussion across diverse workplaces as well as prevention strategies. Produced with Kukuzoo Videos and a team of clinicians, researchers, and industry partners.
Fit for Dialysis (Short Film)
Screenwriter, Co-Director, Producer — Film Based on Health Research
A narrative film created in collaboration with research teams exploring wellness and physical activity for older dialysis patients. The project used storytelling to surface patient experiences and encourage collaborative practices within clinical settings. We partnered with Marchlight to produce this film.
